Principal's Message

 

I am honored to join the Aragon Eagles Family as your Principal, and I am hopeful that our collaboration will yield great student success. As a product of LAUSD myself I have tremendous faith in the collective efforts of school communities to uplift dreams, goals, and aspirations. Today I join you, side by side, ready to serve our children by ensuring a safe and enriching learning community where all students are uplifted as they dream big and soar high.

 

My own parents immigrated from Guatemala in search of greater opportunities. They settled in Highland Park and I attended Garvanza Elementary, Luther Burbank Jr High and later Hollywood High School. Along the way, remarkable human beings, teachers, in partnership with my family nurtured my aspirations to attend Occidental College and subsequently become an educator. ¡Si se pudo!

 

Since beginning my career at LAUSD I have eagerly served as a teacher, an instructional coach, a coordinator, an assistant principal, a summer school principal, and now your Principal. These last few years however have indeed been challenging for us all and yet we have persevered. As we look to the future, we must continue to be courageous, kind to others and ourselves, and willing to be vulnerable as we rely on one another. ¡Si, se puede!

 

Please know that my door is always open to you. We will uplift our children as we commit to partner in their success! I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and I wish you continued health and well-being.
